There’s a new explanation for why superstorm Sandy happened coming from Syria.
Syrian Army News posted this. Quote — “Sources confirm that Hurricane Sandy, now buffeting the U.S., was carried out by highly advanced technology developed by the heroic Iranian regime, in coordination with our resistant regime. This is a consequence of attacking Assad’s Syria and threatening its security.”
Last month, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad blamed the West for destroying his country’s rain clouds to force a drought.
South Africa has released currency notes featuring the image of Nelson Mandela, one of the world’s most beloved statesmen. The new Mandela notes, Madiba Bucks, Mandela Rands, or so-called Randelas went into circulation this month. The series comes in demoninations of 200, 100, 50, 20, and 10 Rand notes—the notes’ reverse side remains the same, with pictures of the “Big Five” animals (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo).
South Africa president Jacob Zuma said the banknotes were “a humble gesture” to express South Africa’s “deep gratitude.” The first person to use the new banknotes was South Africa’s Reserve Bank governor Gill Marcus. “She spent 160 rands, about $18 on some nuts, beetroot, a watermelon, and a cucumber at her local shop in the capital, Pretoria,” according to one news report. September 17, 2012 – JAPAN– US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta called for diplomatic efforts to resolve a worsening territorial spat between Japan and China on Monday, the day after warning disputes could draw East Asia into war. Speaking after meetings in Tokyo with senior Japanese figures, Panetta urged “calm and restraint on all sides” in a row over disputed islands that has rapidly escalated in the last week into sometimes violent protests in China. “Obviously we’re concerned by the demonstrations and the conflict over the Senkaku islands,” Panetta said, referring to the Japanese-administered archipelago that China claims and calls Diaoyu. “It is extremely important that diplomatic means on both sides be used to try to constructively resolve these issues,” he said, adding a resolution of the dispute has to be based on “clear principles” and international law. “It’s in everybody’s interest for Japan and China to maintain good relations…
